AWP 2024 – Kansas City

While I forgot to post all the news of readings and panels before AWP 2024, I can now post photos of the wonderful events I attended while in Kansas City last week. I spoke on two amazing panels, Haunting, Healing, and Female Voice: Women Who Write Horror and Hybridity and the Case of the Active Reader. The horror panel was pre-recorded and is still available for anyone who purchased a ticket to AWP—I’d love to hear your thoughts if you watch it!

I also shared work from my books at two fantastic readings, Wednesday Night Poetry, hosted by the lovely Kai Coggin—which had over 200 people in attendance! And YesYes Books, Together Again! hosted by YesYes Books (home of my memoir-in-verse). Both readings were filled with amazing poetry, friendship, and community, representing the best AWP off-site events have to offer!

Finally, I’ve posted some pictures from the conference: of meeting new friends and hugging old ones, signing my books, and wandering around in the dizzy joy that is AWP.

I hope to have even more fun next year when AWP meets in Los Angeles! For now, the happy memories will keep me floating for months to come!
